Work of Executive Committee (EC) 3.1 EC Meeting  The Executive Committee (EC) held 11 meetings since the AGM on 8 Nov,2013 3.2 Other Issues  The Chairman has been interviewed by media on following various issues  SSPA  2014 Policy Address  NSS Review  Textbook, e-textbooks, e-learning  Central Occupation  Boycott of Classes  CLP etc James Lam 6

Meetings with EDB 5.125 November 2013: The Chairman attended a meeting discussing the Through-Train policy with the EDB representatives. 5.227 November 2013: Meeting with Mrs. Michelle WONG YAU Wai-ching, the Deputy Secretary for Education (4). The following issues were discussed: Financial Management: It was agreed that a table listing all kinds of government funds with function & time limit to be given to schools to facilitate financial management and optional use for reporting to IMC The possibility of admitting mainland students in secondary schools Pilot Scheme for E-learning schools James Lam 12

Meetings with EDB 5.328 and 29 November 2013: The Chairman offered assistance to EDB to interview applicants for the Japanese Exchange Programme JENESYS 2013/2014. 5.430 November 2013: The Chairman attended a breakfast meeting with the Secretary for Education Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, SBS, JP. 5.518 December 2013: The Chairman, together with the Vice-Chairman and several exco members, discussed matters related to places for S.1 Repeaters with Mrs. WONG YAU Wai-ching, Michelle, Deputy Secretary for Education (4). 14 5. Meetings with EDB 5.62 January 2014: The Chairman, together with the Vice- Chairman and several exco members, had a meeting with Mr. Eddie NG Hak-kim, SBS, JP, Secretary for Education. In the meeting, issues related to Policy Address and how to cope with problems arising from inadequate S.1 enrolment were discussed. 5.79 January 2014: The Chairman attended the Joint Committee. In the meeting, measures related to how to cope with problems arising from inadequate S.1 enrolment were discussed with Mr. YEUNG Yun-hung, Kevin, JP Under Secretary for Education, Mrs. WONG YAU Wai- ching Deputy Secretary (Ed) 4, Ms. WONG Hok-ling, Jessie Deputy Secretary (Ed) 2 and other representatives. Meetings with EDB 5.816 January 2014: The Chairman attended a meeting with Mrs Wong Yau Wai-ching, Deputy Secretary for Education(4), regarding the analysis on borrowing school premises. 5.924 January 2014: The Chairman attended a meeting initiated by the Joint Committee and Dr Hon LAM Tai- fai, SBS, JP, Chairman of the Panel on Education of the Legislative Council. In the meeting, issues related to the drop of S.1 enrolment were discussed with Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, SBS, JP, Secretary for Education, Mr. Yeung Yun-hung, Kevin, JP, the Under Secretary for Education, and two secretaries of the EDB. Meetings with EDB 5.1029 January 2014: The Chairman attended a consultation meeting arranged by the EDB, regarding Learning Chinese as Second Language Curriculum Framework for Non-Chinese Speaking Students. 5.1111 February 2014: Meeting with Ms. Jessie WONG Hok-ling, Deputy Secretary for Education (2) on recent educational issues: Building inspection and window inspection for Hong Kong Schools MOI Policy The problem of declining student population S.1 Places allocation for 2014/15 Early result announcement of S.1 discretionary places James Lam 16

Meetings with EDB 5.125 April 2014: The Chairman had a tea gathering with Secretary for Education Mr. Eddie Ng Hak-kim, SBS, JP. 5.1322 May 2014: The Chairman attended a meeting with numerous EC members chaired by Mrs. Michelle WONG YAU Wai-ching, Deputy Secretary for Education (3). In the meeting, issues related to how surplus teachers should be placed arising from S.1 enrolment and the Voluntary Optimisation of Class Structure Scheme were discussed. James Lam 17

18 5. Meetings with EDB 5.149 June 2014: The Chairman attended a meeting with several EC members chaired by Mr. Tony TANG, Deputy Secretary for Education (4). In the meeting, issues related to how surplus teachers should be placed arising from S.1 enrolment and the Voluntary Optimisation of Class Structure Scheme were discussed. 5.158 July 2014: The Chairman discussed with Mr. TANG Fat Yuen, Tony, Deputy Secretary for Education (4) of the EDB regarding the SSPA Result 2014-15. Meetings with EDB 5.1624 September 2014: The Chairman met Mr. Tony TANG, Deputy Secretary for Education (4) of the EDB, regarding class reduction in the territory after SSPA 2014-15. 5.172 October 2014: The Chairman met Mr. Eddie NG Hak- kim, SBS, JP, Secretary for Education, discussing class boycott, and “211” reduction in SSPA. 5.187 October 2014: The Chairman met Ms Jessie Wong, Deputy Secretary for Education (2) and Mr. Tong TANG, Deputy Secretary for Education (4), regarding reduction of allocation in SSPA.
