3. Overview of Canto XVI (part 2) It is brought up how Jacopo Rusticucci accused his wife of sodomy. They question Dante as to the state of their beloved Florence. Virgil later throws Dante’s cord into the “deep abyss”, summoning the being that lives in it known as Geryon.
