If: Country of origin of raw materials (hide and/or bone) is BSE free and country of processing/export is BSE affected, Then: Permit will require certification of country of origin and dedicated facility

If: Country of origin of raw materials (hide only) is BSE affected, Then: Permit will require certification of hide derived and dedicated facility (excluding hides)

If: Country of origin of raw materials (bone only) is BSE affected, Then: Permit will include affidavit requirements or importer responsibility restrictions

Import Permit Application Process:
Complete the application (VS form 16-3) Submit completed application by mail, fax, or on-line at “Apply for Import Authorization” Submit required user fees Permit issued within 2-4 weeks Permit duration is One calendar year
