WorkPad 4 Visio Import Business Optix WorkPad 4 provides the ability to import an existing Visio model. Visio 2003 or later must be installed on the machine running WorkPad.

How to import an existing Visio Select the Home ribbon Click the Import tool Select the Visio file you wish to import from the dialog box Click Open

Visio Import Options The Visio Import Options dialog will appear, to let you choose which Visio shapes will be converted to which WorkPad Process model components It lists each known Visio Type against the corresponding (selectable) WorkPad Type You can choose whether you want a separate model for each page if the Visio being imported includes multiple pages – just check the Generate separate XBP for each page? box Once you’re happy, click OK

The Import Any warnings will be displayed for any links that are not connected at both ends within the Visio model These unconnected links will be omitted from the WorkPad All known Visio shapes will be imported, and your Visio diagram will appear as a WorkPad model The Import dialog will close

Handling Unrecognized Shapes To check whether any Visio shapes were unrecognized, click the Import tool again Any unrecognized shapes are reported on the Unrecognized types from last import tab Right click the Shape Type you wish to import And select the WorkPad type you wish to map it to Click OK, and the Visio model will be re-imported using your new mappings
