A.Live animals, Semen, Ova and Embryos Council Directive 2004/68/EC of 26 April 2004 laying down animal health rules for the importation into and transit through the Community of certain live ungulate animals, amending Directives 90/426/EEC and 92/65/EEC and repealing Directive 72/462/EEC This EU legislation is outside the scope of the EEA Agreement. The relevant requirements are covered by equivalent requirements in Icelandic Acts and applied regulations such as: Act IS no 66/1998 on the Veterinary Services etc Act IS no 25/1993 on animal diseases etc Act IS no 54/1990 on import of animals Import requirements for live animals and animal products

A.Live animals, Semen, Ova and Embryos Regulation (EC) No 999/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2001 laying down rules for the prevention, control and eradication of certain transmissible spongiform encephalopathies This Directive has not been applicable – but is included in JCD 133/2007 and due for implementation before 1 November 2011 Regulation (EC) No 999/2001 – derogations: Iceland may continue to feed fishmeal to ruminants Certain provisions concerning the eradication of TSE in ovine and caprine animals do not apply Provisions concerning intra Community trade and export and import of live animals do not apply Continuation of meat and bone meal import ban Import requirements for live animals and animal products

A.Live animals, Semen, Ova and Embryos Council Directive 96/23/EC of 29 April 1996 on measures to monitor certain substances and residues thereof in live animals and animal products and repealing Directives 85/358/EEC and 86/469/EEC and Decisions 89/187/EEC and 91/664/EEC This Directive has not been applicable, but now fully applicable and is included in the JCD 133/2007 and due for implementation before 1 November 2011. A.Live animals, Semen, Ova and Embryos Regulation (EC) No 2160/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 November 2003 on the control of salmonella and other specified food-borne zoonotic agents. This Directive has not been applicable, but now fully applicable and is included in the JCD 133/2007 and due for implementation before 1 November 2011. C.Animal By - Products not for human consumption. Regulation (EC) No 1774/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 3 October 2002 laying down health rules concerning animal by- products not intended for human consumption. This Regulation will be implemented before 01.11.2011 according to Joint Committee Decision no. 135/2007 Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 October 2009 laying down health rules as regards animal by- products and derived products not intended for human consumption and repealing Regulation (EC) No 1774/2002 (Animal by-products Regulation) This regulation will be implemented once the process through the EEA is final.
