Cultures have been meeting and mixing in Malaysia since the very beginning of its history. More than fifteen hundred years ago a Malay kingdom in Bujang Valley welcomed traders from China and India. With the arrival of gold and silks, Buddhism and Hinduism also came to Malaysia. A thousand years later, Arab traders arrived in Malacca and brought with them the principles and practices of Islam. By the time the Portuguese arrived in Malaysia, the empire that they encountered was more cosmopolitan than their own.

Malaysia imports commodities: electronics, machinery, petroleum products, plastics, vehicles, iron and steel products and chemicals. Its main import partners are: Japan, China, European Union, Singapore and United States. Exports $195.7 billion f.o.b. (2008 est.) Imports $175.3 billion f.o.b. (2008 est.)

Takob Akob waterfall is one of the few newly discovered waterfalls in Maliau Basin Conservation Area, in Sabah, Malaysia. Takobakob Falls was named after the mangosteen look-alike tree found beside the falls. It dropped down at 38m.This waterfall is about an hour trekking from Camel Trophy Camp.

Bukit Lanjan is a Malaysian hill in the Petaling district of Selangor. It is also the name of a state constituency of the Selangor State Assembly. Bukit Lanjan is part of the Subang parliamentary constituency.

Pahang River is a river in the state of Pahang, Malaysia on the Malay Peninsula. With 459 km in length, it is the longest river on the Malay Peninsula. The river begins at the confluence of Jelai and Tembeling rivers on the Titiwangsa Mountains and drains into the South China Sea.

Malaysia Inland Waterway Transport System in Sarawak There has been a resurgence in commercial inland waterway transport, particularly for cargo, in Asia and Europe. The major rivers of India, China and Southeast Asia are being used as an alternative to road transport in order to achieve greater fuel conservation, reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, and lower road and vehicle maintenance costs.

Malaysia is a constitutional monarchy and is governed under the constitution of 1957 as amended. The sovereign is a largely ceremonial head of state, and is elected every five years by and from the nine hereditary rulers of Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Johor. The current sovereign is Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu.
