WHY USE THE ALGEBRA PLACEMENT PROGRAM AT SCS? Algebra is available to all students All students have the opportunity to take higher level math courses in High School 8 th Grade Enrichment Students able to progress at their pace Our model was adopted by CSSU

WHAT DOES ALGEBRA LOOK LIKE AT SCS? Algebra is taught every day Algebra takes place in the classroom and additional monthly seminars APP students participate in follow-up sessions Algebra is taught by all 8 th grade math teachers and is collaborative – monthly planning

TRUE OR FALSE QUIZ Algebra is taught in isolation 9 seminars per year. Students are expected to teach themselves algebra and there is no direct instruction or time for follow up with teachers. Everyone must take algebra seminar for placement credit once they have signed up. Algebra seminars are the only time algebra is taught at SCS.
