2. Curriculum vitae Julian Tuwim was a Polish poet of a Juwish descent. He was a co-founder of the Skamander group of experimental poets. He also co-founded a cabaret "Picador", and worked as a writer or artistic director with many other cabarets. He was a major figure in Polish literature, admired also for his contribution to children's literature.

Curriculum vitae A t the beginning of World War II Tuwim emigrated first through Romania to France, and after France's capitulation, to Brazil, by way of Portugal, and finally to the USA, where he settled in 1942. He returned to Poland after the war, in 1946, but didn’t produce much after the war.
