The great city A very important city “a visit required three days” A population similar to Falkirk It’s a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:31) God gave them a second chance The Ninevites believed God They turned from their evil ways

He is the hero of the book He is “a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity” (4:2) God responds to humankind He does not need to be persuaded to forgive He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20)

We are dependant on the compassion and grace of God We are no more worthy of that grace than anyone else We are in no less need of that grace than anyone else We must walk with God in humility We must allow Him to challenge our understanding of Himself and His gospel We should expect to be part of Christ’s commission to tell others of His Gospel
