FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD
2
2 Corinthians 5:17–20 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ... 19 God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them..
3
Colossians 1:19–20 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him (i.e. Christ), 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
4
Romans 5:8–11 (NLT) 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. 9 And since we have been made right in God’s sight (JUSTIFIED) by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.
5
10 For since our friendship with God was restored (WE WERE RECONCILED) by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. 11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God (WE HAVE RECEIVED RECONCILIATION).
