“Reflection is the vital art of finding and applying the unique point of a biblical text and relating that point to the redemptive message of the whole Bible.” - Doriani Goal of reflection is to discover and communicate the main lesson of a passage in Scripture.

Fallen Condition Focus (FCF) - “What aspect of the fallen condition of mankind does this passage address?” Exercise - 2 Corinthians 3:4-6 4 Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. 5 Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. 6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant-- not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Fallen Condition Focus (FCF) – Actually incompetent & feel incompetent How does God remedy the fallen condition?
