DO YOU HAVE SAVING FAITH? James 2:14-26 James 2:14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith, but does not have works? Can his faith save him? HCSB

I. VERBAL FAITH IS DEAD James 2:14-17 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith, but does not have works? Can his faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well," but you don't give them what the body needs, what good is it? In the same way faith, if it doesn't have works, is dead by itself. HCSB

II. MENTAL FAITH IS USELESS James 2:19-20 19 You believe that God is one; you do well. The demons also believe--and they shudder. 20 Foolish man! Are you willing to learn that faith without works is useless? HCSB

III. WORKING FAITH SAVES Faith That Works Saved Abraham: James 2:21-24 21 Wasn't Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith was active together with his works, and by works, faith was perfected. 23 So the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness, and he was called God's friend. 24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. III. WORKING FAITH SAVES Faith That Works Saved Rahab: James 2:25 25 And in the same way, wasn't Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by a different route? 26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. DO YOU HAVE SAVING FAITH? Matthew 7:13-14 14 "Enter through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. 14 How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it. HCSB

DO YOU HAVE SAVING FAITH? Mat 7:15 "Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves. Mat 7:16 You'll recognize them by their fruit. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Mat 7:17 In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. Mat 7:18 A good tree can't produce bad fruit; neither can a bad tree produce good fruit. Mat 7:19 Every tree that doesn't produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Mat 7:20 So you'll recognize them by their fruit. HCSB

DO YOU HAVE SAVING FAITH? Mat 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord!' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father in heaven. Mat 7:22 On that day many will say to Me, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name?' Mat 7:23 Then I will announce to them, 'I never knew you! Depart from Me, you lawbreakers!' HCSB

DO YOU HAVE SAVING FAITH? Mat 7:24 "Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock. Mat 7:25 The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn't collapse, because its foundation was on the rock. Mat 7:26 But everyone who hears these words of Mine and doesn't act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. Mat 7:27 The rain fell, the rivers rose, the winds blew and pounded that house, and it collapsed. And its collapse was great!" HCSB
