Teacher’s Page Objective: This activity is intended to let students see what an author may be thinking while writing a poem. Activity: Students will read the poem and the author’s notes. They will answer in journals.

Sun Tag The Wind and the Sun Played tag all day. The Sun was it,

Author’s Notes When I was writing this poem I was thinking about the weather principle of high and low pressure. I wanted to describe how the heat from the Sun causes the wind to blow. continued

Personify: to make an object like a person When I write poetry I like to personify my subject. Including at least one rhyme is also important to me.
