2 Teacher’s Page Objective: This activity is intended to let students see what an author may be thinking while writing a poem. Activity: Students will read the poem and the author’s notes. They will answer in journals.

4 Sun Tag The Wind and the Sun Played tag all day. The Sun was it,
The Wind ran away.

5 Author’s Notes When I was writing this poem I was thinking about the weather principle of high and low pressure. I wanted to describe how the heat from the Sun causes the wind to blow. continued

6 Personify: to make an object like a person When I write poetry I like to personify my subject. Including at least one rhyme is also important to me.
