Concentration upper gastrointestinal surgery All upper gastrointestinal surgery within the county council will be concentrated to Karolinska, Huddinge in 2005 Two project groups started 2004 to: - identify and facilitate ICT support - to identify and organise the workflow

Workflow - Local hospital to University hospital Referrels to Univ Hospital Consultation / tests and treatment Back to home Return visit to Univ Hospital Hospital

The new workflow Challenges: –Integration with the daily workflow –Use the existing infrastructures at Huddinge, (labs etc) Benefits: –Increase competence –More effective care cycle –Better service to the patients
