2 Answer ONE of the following: What does patriotism mean to you? Do you think it’s important for people to be patriotic? Why or why not? Is it unpatriotic or anti-American to criticize the United States government?

3 Fear of spying, sabotage & dissent motivated Congress to pass the Espionage & Sedition Acts. The federal court case Schenk v. United States upheld the Sedition Act in cases that created a “clear and present danger.”
