4 The New Teacher Induction Mentoring System (NTIMS) Was developed to help each school to track & document mentoring at the school site NTIMS replaces paper logs NTIMS will be used by each school-based mentor to record interactions with their new teachers on-line NTIMS will give mentors & principals instant access to the state of mentoring in their schools without violating confidentiality NTIMS provides automatic end of year mentoring documentation for the State MTIMS data includes: Types of Interactions between Mentor & New Teacher Tools & Strategies Used Number of Hours Logged Professional Teaching Standards Addressed New Teachers’ Growth & Development

25 Prior to Mentors using NTIMS… Principals must tell NTIMS who are the new teachers and who are the mentors While each school’s table of organization is loaded in NTIMS, NTIMS doesn’t know which teachers are mentors and which teachers are new teachers Set Up procedures are found in the principals’ guide to NTIMS
