STEP 1: PAT placement exercise Permanent teachers in temporary positions placed into ongoing positions where possible STEP 2: Conversion to Permanency All Category 1 and 2 and Zone 3, 4 and 5 country schools and agreed specialist subject areas (where appropriate) STEP 3: Advertising Ongoing vacancies advertised STEP 4: PTR placement exercise for: Consequential and unfilled ongoing vacancies from step 3 Newly submitted ongoing vacancies STEP 5: Advertising or Conversion to Permanency (if applicable) Consequential and unfilled ongoing vacancies STEP 6: Temporary vacancies

Advertising allows schools the greatest opportunity to select their own staff whilst protecting the industrial rights and existing guarantees of permanent employees The Local Selection Panel comprises the Principal (or delegate) as Chairperson and a representative elected by AEU members at the school

Who can apply? Both permanent and temporary teachers including teachers currently in leadership positions Eligibility Teachers who meet minimum DECD requirements by the start of the appointment Teachers in at least their second year of permanency Country scholarship holders appointed to a one year position in 2015 can only apply for country positions in 2016

Teachers who MUST be included in the PTR and MUST be placed ie. Teachers who have been in PAT / TPT positions in 2015 are returning from extended leave are completing tenure leadership or seconded positions

Some teachers can OPT into the PTR and MUST be placed ie. Eligible teachers who are: exercising a guarantee (country to metro or country to country)

Some teachers can OPT into the PTR and MAY be placed ie Eligible teachers who are: from Cat 1, 2 or Country Zones 1-5 and seeking metro placement for preferred sites only seeking alternative placement through a transfer

You will be appointed to a position within 45 km of where you commuted daily to the position OR If in the country and your position immediately prior was in the metropolitan area, then you may choose to be placed in the extended metropolitan area or within 45km of where you commuted daily to the leadership position

SPECIAL PLACEMENT AGREEMENT
Teachers may apply for consideration of special circumstances at any time Teachers must complete a Special Placement Request (VL729) form and forward to Senior HR Consultants Required on an annual basis Teachers must include relevant documents to support their request (eg medical) In exceptional circumstances teachers may be granted a Special Placement Agreement for inclusion in the PTR
