Care and Feeding for the Laptop Do not expose laptop to extreme hot or cold temperatures Do not store in the trunk of you car in extreme hot or cold weather Do not leave the laptop on the seat of you car when you are not in it – can instigate a Smash & Grab! Use the carry case/bag to transport the laptop - will protect against accidental drops and damages Do not use the cable lock when leaving the laptop for any long periods of time The cable lock is only a deterrent for brief periods of unsupervised time away from laptop (i.e. restroom break, etc.) It can be easily broken off. Nine Elements of Digital Citizenship Digital Access Full electronic participation in society Digital Commerce The buying and selling of goods online. Digital Communication The electronic exchange of information Digital Literacy The standard of conduct expected by other digital technology users. Digital Etiquette The standard of conduct expected by other digital technology users. Digital Law The legal rights and restrictions governing technology use. Digital Rights and Responsibilities The privileges and freedoms extended to all digital technology users, and the behavioral expectations that come with them. Digital Health and Wellness The elements of physical and psychological well-being related to digital technology use. Digital Security The precautions that all technology users must take to guarantee their personal safety of their network. How to Connect to Peripherals: 1. Setting up the Kensington laptop lock: 2. Initial code is located to right of RED switch on lock and should be set to 0000 3. With flat head screwdriver or paper clip, push in end of lock and turn. This will allow you to set your lock code. 4. Turn numbers on lock until the code you have chosen is displayed to right of the RED switch on lock. 5. Once code is set as described in 3) above, with screwdriver or paper clip, push in end of lock and turn back into its original position. 6. Test the lock combination before securing it to the laptop. 7. Push in black button on lock and insert into lock port on laptop. Let go of black button on lock and lock should now be secure and un-detachable from the laptop. 8. Turn numbers on lock to other than lock code to securely lock the laptop. 9. To release lock: Set your lock code so it is displayed to left of RED switch on lock. Push in and hole black button on lock in while taking lock out of lock port on laptop.
