Use “who” as the subject (at the beginning of the sentence) Example: Who works in the shop everyday? Check it by replacing the underlined word with a person’s name.

Use “whom” as the direct object (after the verb) Example: Whom do the customers like best? Restate sentence in it’s proper order to check it. Do the customers like whom best? (comes after verb as direct object)

Use “whose” to show ownership. Example: Whose paper is on the floor? Use whose because you are asking who owns it.
