Goals and Goal Setting: Goals: The purpose toward which effort is directed –American Heritage College Dictionary Goal-Setting: –The practice of developing and assigning goals to programs, services or activities, etc.

Performance Measurement: The act of measuring ones performance on a particular task or activity The act of measuring ones performance toward completing desired goals

Goal setting and performance measurement sequence of events: –Leader of the organization –Vision for the organization (global and/or broad) –Goals for the organization (specific period of time)
