Commands are used to tell people what to do OR give advice In Spanish, your relationship with the person determines the type of command that you use

Ud/Uds. commands used with adults, strangers, or anyone that you need to show some formality or respect to.

Formation of Ud./Uds/ commands Identical to the Ud./Uds. subjunctive forms ¡Tome..!¡Vayan…! ¡Vuelva…!¡Pidan…! ¡Salga!¡Sean…! ¡Empiece..!¡Merezcan…!

Negative commands Put NO in front of the command. ¡No tome…!¡No vayan…! ¡No vuelva…!¡ No salgan…! ¡No empiece…!

with Reflexive verbs… like moverse, quitarse, levantarse, lavarse, etc… with an AFFIRMATIVE COMMAND, ATTACH THE PRONOUN MOVE!¡Muévase! ¡Muévanse! TAKE OFF…! ¡Quítese..! ¡Quítense…! GET UP!¡Levántese! ¡Levántense!

with a negative reflexive command… put the pronoun in front of the verb Dont move!¡No se mueva! Dont get up!¡No se levante! Dont take off…!¡No se quite…! Dont wash…!¡No se laven…! Dont get old!¡No se envejezcan!

Attach when positive, DONT attach when negative! Help me! ¡Ayúdeme! Dont help me! ¡No me ayude! Move it! (the piano)¡Muévalo! Dont move it! ¡No lo mueva!
