Have you ever heard the saying that “Seeing is Believing” Well take a look at the next slides and then ask yourself if you really saw what you thought you saw Better Sports for Kids……….. Better Kids for Life

Perception = Reality 1.In just a moment I want you to move your head a few inches closer to the screen and then move forward & back, in a sort of bobbing motion. 2.Then do it 7 or 8 more times. 3. You can start moving as soon as you hit the enter key, which will take you to the next slide. 4.Once the next slide appears and while you’re moving your head, find the only dot on the screen Better Sports for Kids……….. Focus on the dot in the center and move your head backwards and forwards...Weird... Are the blocks really moving? It sure does look like they are

This is another example of an amazing illusion! Follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, the dots will remain only one color, pink. If you concentrate on the cross in the middle, after a while you will notice that this moving pink dot will turn green! Keep looking at the cross a bit longer and you‘ll notice that all dots except the green one will disappear It's amazing how our brain works – There really is no green dot, and the pink ones really don't disappear. Perception = Reality While watching my son’s game, one official kept calling fouls on my son and I never once saw him even touch another player. I wanted so bad to give that ref my glasses ( and a piece of my mind)as he obviously needed them more than I did. But then I remembered two things. First my wife told me that I had better hold on to what little mind I had. Secondly my old baseball coach had told me that it wasn’t his job to holler at the umpire for making bad calls. Officials, coaches and players will all make mistakes during the course of a game. He went on to say that he felt that he could help me more by working with me to deal with that situation, so that I could learn to keep my composure and not loose my focus. Players who can keep their focus regardless of the situation become known as the player to go to in tough situations. Better Sports for Kids……….. Better Kids for Life
