4 Collection Component of MNTEWS:
Malaysian Seismological Network one of the components of data & information collection component of Malaysian National Tsunami Early Warning System (MNTEWS) Data & Information Collection Component of MNTEWS: Seismic Stations Tidal Gauges Deep Ocean Buoys Coastal Cameras Linkage to PTWC and JMA Key features of MNTEWS: Monitoring of Earthquake and Tsunami on a 24-hour basis Issuance of information and advisory on the occurrence of earthquake, and issuance of information, advisory, early warning and warning on the occurrence of tsunami that threaten the security and safety of Malaysia It is an integral part of the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning System and the Northwest Pacific Advisory System

8 International and Regional Cooperation
Malaysia is receiving seismic waveform data from USGS, IRIS, Singapore,Australia and CTBTO through Internet in near real-time. VSAT link to BMG, Indonesia, has established for data exchange. Malaysia is already contributing real-time waveform data from its 7 broadband stations for regional and international exchange: KUM (Kulim) IPM (Ipoh) KOM (Kota Tinggi) KSM (Kuching) SBM (Sibu) - KKM (Kota Kinabalu) LDM (Lahad Datu)

10 Conclusion We need International and Regional Cooperation in order to enhance our seismic monitoring system. Malaysia fully support and reaffirm our commitment to an open, free and unrestricted sharing of real-time seismic data, regionally and internationally.
