Useful Phrases Useful phrases are words that we will begin using to communicate with one another while we learn Spanish.

Useful phrases Tengo una pregunta- I have a question Dime – tell me ¿Cómo se dice (English word) en español?- How do you say in Spanish? ¿Cómo se dice (Spanish word) en inglés? – how do you say in English..? Necesito ayuda- I need help

Escriban- write! (to all) Escriba - write! (to one person) Estudien - study! ( to all) Estudie - study! (to one person) ¿Comprenden? – Do you understand? (to all) ¿Comprendes? - Do you understand? (to one person)

No comprendo or no entiendo – I dont understand No sé- I dont know Escuchen – listen! (to all) No escucho- I cant hear Repitan- repeat! (to all) Repita – repeat (to one) Atención- attention

commands Lo siento- Im sorry Otra vez por favor- one more time please (once again) ¿Cómo? – what?/how? ¿Qué? – what? La tarea- Homework No tengo la tarea-I dont have the homework ¿Listos? – ready? Silencio – silence (be quiet)

Oh Dios mio!- oh my God! En linea- line up ¿Puedo usar el sacapuntas? May I use the pencil sharpener? ¿Puedo ir al baño? May I go to the bathroom? ¿Puedo ir a la oficina? May I go to the office?

Give short examples as to when to use the phrases learned. Choose 10 vocabulary words Ex: You just find out there is a pop quiz and you didnt study, you may say: Que??!!!Oh Dios Mio!!!
