3. Barbadian Currency of Yesteryear  Between 1950 and 1973, Barbados shared a common currency with other Caribbean states.  Until 1975, our currency was tied to the Pound Sterling.  The Barbados dollar is now tied to the United States Dollar.  The rate of exchange is USD1.00 = Barbados $2.00
