Introduced by Alex F Osborne in 1939. Brainstorming is a process for developing creative solutions to problems Brainstorming works by focusing on a problem, and then deliberately coming up with as many solutions as possible and by pushing the ideas as far as possible. One of the reasons it is so effective is that the brainstormers not only come up with new ideas in a session, but also spark off from associations with other people's ideas by developing and refining them. No criticism Welcome unusual ideas Quantity Wanted Combine and improve ideas
2
Define and agree the objective. Brainstorm ideas and suggestions having agreed a time limit. Categorize/condense/combine/refine. Assess/analyze effects or results. Prioritize options/rank list as appropriate. Agree action and timescale. Control and monitor follow-up.

Everyone involved to feel that they’ve contributed to the end solution, and it reminds people that other people have creative ideas to offer Brainstorming is fun, and it can be great for team- building! Individual brainstorming creates better quality ideas You do not have to worry about other people's egos or opinions, and can therefore be more freely creative
