Forward Author’s notes I’d be lying if I said the thought of writing a book was something that just popped into my head at age 87. There are some things that seem to sit on your mind for a long time before you can bring yourself to vocalize them. Writing this book was certainly one of them. Actually, for a very long time, I wanted to write a book about my father, Antonio Calarco. He was a great man, with an extraordinary reputation for helping others. From a very early age, I worked side by side with him in his trade. What I learned was much, much more than the cutting, shaping and the bending of tin and copper. I learned what it meant to be a friend, a father and a person to be trusted. I learned that respect and honor is not something that anyone is entitled to. Respect is earned and honor is bestowed upon those who touch peoples lives in a positive way. If I am to be remembered for anything, it is that I shaped my life to emulate my father. His deeds, his respect and his honor. Dominic Calarco

Preface Having never been in front of a running camera, Dad sat nervously in the comfort of his living room chair, on a hot summer afternoon and gave his very first interview. 87 years old and filled with stories. I’ll never apologize for the words spoken here. They are so much a part of his life. He laughed a lot, cried some too, but was always in awe of his own father, Antonio Calarco. I knew I had to start somewhere…..

I asked him one question and the camera just kept running. “Dad, can you tell me about Antonio Calarco?” Roll the tape
