2. Context 35,000 students (largest in the state of Kansas) 200 level Introduction to Microbiology course. Pre-nursing, pre-dental hygiene, and pre- pharmacy students Class sizes are 25-30 students per section. I teach at least 3 sections a each semester.

3. How does class time affect student retention and learning outcomes? Hybrid = 1 hour of class time and “2 hours” online. Face to Face = 3 hours of class time a week. Same supplementary material online for both sections. Same exams, quizzes, and grading scheme.

4. Research Design Exam scores and overall course grade. Interview students who drop the course. Demographic survey asking: ▫Time spent working ▫Family commitments ▫Time spent studying for this class ▫How many credit hours taken both traditionally and online or hybrid. ▫GPA
