3 Excerpt from an email from Nursing Student Aileen M.  “I can’t believe how worthwhile the Reading Workshop was for me. I will certainly apply most of the techniques I learned. Just a suggestion - I truly think this would be so beneficial to all young kids starting college. I am almost 40, but hope that my sons will have this when they start college and even in high school. It makes school life so much easier.”

4 Excerpt from an email from Reading Student Anna Marie P.  “It's Anna-Marie, I just got my reading final grade back and I got a 94 on it and 93 overall for the class!!!! I am beyond ecstatic and proud of myself, but I really couldn't have done it without you helping me my first and second semester! You are wonderful and really did help me develop great skills that I am going to take with me onto my next set of classes.”

12 Excerpt from a letter from 091/092 student Ivy P. “I really do not know how to express my gratitude from my bottom of heart for your helps to me these two years. In the class, I almost couldn't follow the instructor. You, as our lab teacher had given me much help in lab class, and used extra time to help me after class. You helped me to understand the sentences in the articles one by one. I passed the reading 091. More importantly, I got big confidence in English learning. Then I took reading 092, writing 095, and 121. I know, without your helps, I could not pass these classes. I never forget, you tried different ways to help me improve my English.”

13 Learning Assistants’ Connection to BCC Graduates…….  1 out of 2 BCC graduates was a “Basic Skills” student.  Our most “at-risk” students received the strong foundation and skill set for success in college.  “SUCCESS STARTS AT BROOKDALE!”

I just want to say thank you! I couldn’t imagine not learning and working here with such great Learning Assistants. I will dearly miss y’all! As my time is sailing away from being on campus and doors are opening for me to start a new journey, I appreciate the things you have done for me. An old chapter is closing while a new one is about to begin. Thanks again!” Love Always, Devin
