At 7.45 a.m. we set out on a journey to Ljubljana – our capital city – and stopped at a castle which is situated on a hill. We went up by Funicular Railway. Unfortunatelly, it was rather foggy so we couldn’t enjoy a view of the city. We were led on the trail of the emperor Friderick III of Habsburg. We tasted some “medieval food” and learned more about life in the past and were able to inspect an original well preserved medieval glass which was exhibited there. After viewing the castle, there was a delicious lunch in the Castle Restaurant. On our ride down the hill, we could experience the wonderful view of the city centre, because the weather got sunnier. Then we went for a walk through the city centre and were headed home to Maribor with a stop in Celje. WEDNESDAY, 30 NOVEMBER 2011 – DAY 3 A SIGHTSEEING TOUR IN LJUBLJANA
