4 ERA of Narcissus In the last days there will be very difficult times.2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good.4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God 2 Tim 3:1-4 (NLT)

5 REASONS FOR EPIDEMIC OF NARCISSISM
Psalm 10:4 The wicked are too proud to seek God, they seem to think that God is dead Boom-time of the 1950s post World War II Toxic psychological impact of media and technology : Facebook, Twitter, Selfies, Computer Games, MTV /Reality shows

6 Christopher Lasch The Culture of Narcissism
These are the psychological drugs of the 21st Century and they are getting our sons and daughters very sick, The bubble of narcissism is always at risk of bursting. That’s why young people are higher on drugs than ever, drunker than ever, smoking more, tattooed more, pierced more and having more and more and more sex, earlier and earlier and earlier, raising babies before they can do it well, because it makes them feel special, for a while. They’re doing anything to distract themselves from the fact that they feel empty inside and unworthy.

7 RESULTS OF THIS NARCISSISM :
Secular values have totally replaced spiritual ones Self-absorption has led to selfishness, pride and no interest in serving others or being humble! Phil 2: 3-4 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for you r own interests but take an interest in others.

8 DO NOT CONFUSE NARCISISM WITH SELF-ESTEEM
SELF-ESTEEM is A HEALTHY SELF-ACCEPTANCE Our worth / value comes from a CONVICTION that our value comes from God who made us , gave his son to die for us, and that WE ARE SO PRECIOUS TO GOD , we are His children

9 God’s mirror is HIS WORD, and HIS WORD NEVER LIES!
Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to His word; instead, put it into practice. If you listen to the word, but do not put it into practice you are like people who look in a mirror and see themselves as they are. They take a good look at themselves and then go away and at once forget what they look like. But if you look closely into the perfect law that sets people free, and keep on paying attention to it and do not simply listen and then forget it, but put it into practice—you will be blessed by God in what you do. James1:22-25

10 GOD’S MIRROR = HIS WORD So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thess 5:11 (NLT) Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. Phil 2:2-4 (NLT) My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me Gal 2:20 (NLT)

11 God's mirror tells us that we are "the fairest of them all
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. 2 Cor 3:18 (NLT)
