11. What does the future hold…? Quite a lot of pupils study both Home Economics and Child Development alongside each other at GCSE as some parts are similar Pupils quite often go on to study A level Home Economics or Health and Social Care which leads to careers in many different fields Some pupils further their GCSE Child Development by studying Child Care at the Tech. Can be an excellent starting ground for university courses and can make all the difference on your UCAS form. Remember …. No matter what happens with the current “credit crunch or recession” ALL children need to be looked after, taught and developed so there will ALWAYS be jobs in this sector!
