2 Considerations? The homeless sector cannot do this on its own. We understand the needs of people who use our services, do we understand the needs of employers. Do you really have the skills within your organisation to develop employability programmes. Why are you doing this: It sounds good. It looks good on funding applications. It is central to our core service.

3 Top Tips Develop sound business partnerships with local employers. Ensure that you have suitable skilled staff to undertake this work. Appropriate tailored made pre employment training is a must. Ongoing support for the individual and employer will dramatically increase sustainability. You have to take a holistic approach.

4 Shekinah Mission 2002 2 staff working on ETE provision Engaging with 20-30 people a year Very limited partnerships. Trying to be all things to all people. Seeing about 5 people a year going into employment

5 Shekinah Mission 2008 200-250 people a year are engaged in ETE provision. 88% of people are achieving nationally accredited qualifications. Comprehensive partnerships with local employers Employer steering group. Delivery partner for BAOH Established job coaching programme delivered by local employers. 60-80 people a year into employment and supported for up to a further year.
