Victim Language Empowering Language We need to think about Victim language Eg “He made me feel so mad”; “You make me feel great”; I statements are more empowering – –I felt lonely when she said – –I felt upset when ” Promoting responsibility language encourages problem solving thinking Gently challenging victim stance and promoting solutions: – –you got angry when this happened… what can you do about being angry?

Touching Safety Skills to stop bad or confusing touching Establish who/when can touch private parts Secrets Tell an adult Anytime you feel mixed up about a touch tell the person to Stop and talk about it with a grown up you can trust

Early Warning Signs Explores concept of unsafe/danger Identify Early Warning signs: Where is your early warning sign? – –Recognise the difference between fun and risk and danger and risk Yes feelings tell us we are safe No feelings tell us we are unsafe or unsure
