Can you imagine? Can you imagine? Even children, as young as you are, are forced to work hard in the fields instead of attending school.

What do these farmers do? They grow various products … cotton and sell it, so that we can have good clothes like t- shirts, underwear, jeans and jackets.

Selfish owners of big shops, buy products from the farmers at very cheap prices. They sell these products again to other selfish owners until they sell them to us at high prices!! They become rich!!!

And guess what? These selfish owners of big shops, pay the farmers very low prices for their hard work to make the products !!! SO the farmers remain poor!!! SO the farmers remain poor!!! This is not Fair This is not Fair

A group of people got angry with this unfairness. So they joined together not to let this continue to happen. FAIRTRADE was born

What does FAIRTRADE do? FAIRTRADE is a group of people that helps poor farmers gain their due money for their hard work, so they can live a better life. If I buy a chocolate that was made by farmers in Ivory Coast, the money that I pay to buy that chocolate goes directly to the farmers and workers who made it, and not to selfish people.

What have I learnt? Every time I buy any of the FAIRTRADE products coming from 3 rd world countries, I am doing my tiny bit to make poor people and their families, happier.
