5. Over half of people suffering from hunger in the world live in Asia (553 million people). About one quarter live in Africa (227 million people).

6. There is enough food produced in the world to feed everyone.

7. People mainly suffer hunger because of lack of access to food. War, poor roads, unfair trade policies and high food prices limit their access to the food that is produced.

8. A typical ration for one adult for one day—as outlined by the World Health Organization—includes: 450 grams of cereal 50 grams of pulses 50 grams of oil 5 grams of iodized salt.
