6 Malaria is a parasitic disease transmitted by the bite of infected mosquitoes. Once the first symptoms appear, malaria can kill very rapidly and often does.

7 300-500 million cases of malaria cause up to 3 MILLION DEATHS EVERY YEAR, most of them children under the age of 5.

17 ROLLBACK MALARIA gains strength through its effective partnerships with the International Federation of the Red Cross and the United Nations.

20 Y’s Men International and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) have already begun their coordinated efforts.

22 In 2008, YMI and the IFRC distributed 25,000 nets in Sierra Leone.
