2.  All around the world, biometrics are becoming more and more commonly used.  Many countries are incorporating biometrics into their identification cards, law enforcement and other parts of society.

3.  Real ID Act of 2005 The REAL ID Act of 2005 is U.S. federal law that imposes certain security, authentication, and insurance procedures standards for the state driver's licenses and state ID cards, for them to be accepted by the federal government for boarding commercially operated airline flights and entering federal buildings and nuclear power plants

4.  Changing visa limits for temporary workers, nurses, and American citizens.  Establishing new national standards for state-issued driver licenses and non- driver identification cards.  Funding some reports and pilot projects related to border security.

5.  As of October of 2009: 25 States have either approved the REAL ID Act, or have legislation in effect to not participate in the program.

6.  Members of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs introduced the Providing for Additional Security in States' Identification (PASS ID) Act of 2009 on June 15, 2009  Repeal substantive provisions of the REAL ID Act of 2005.

7.  For Application purposes, include documents with: Full name Date of birth Gender Person's driver's license or identification card number Persons address of principal residence  Must allow facial digital image capture.

8.  Many countries outside the U.S. have begun using biometric technologies in their governments and other daily operations

10.  Largest civil records system of its kind in the world  National Database of 40 million plus  Up to 35,000 searches per day of the database (2 million records per second)  Allows Argentina to combat identity fraud  accurately, efficiently and cost-effectively

11.  Facial Recognition-used for E-Passport, visiting prisons and prisoners, Airports, Borders, Costs and Criminal intelligence  DNA is used in prisons and other databases for Sex Offenders and law enforcement

12.  The current National ID uses thumbprints, signature images, and facial images  Will use much the same technology as their passports (Facial recognition, Fingerprints) and a hologram mark  Expected in Early 2010 are unique and nontransferable

13.  Argentine telecoms and IT holding company Datco launched Biopassword, an IT solution devoted to identifying network users through typing patterns.  The people will be identified by different type of keystroke characteristics ( speed, movement, rhythm)

14.  Biometrics are prevalent in many countries, including the United States, and will continue to grow worldwide.  Look for biometrics to be incorporated with state and country identification systems.
