How Do I Get That There? Connecting devices to make them work for you!

Why do we need to know this? Expands opportunities to display presentations, videos, games etc. using various devices More and more apps are only available on smart phones/tablets but would be great to use in a religious setting Some of us have limited access to “traditional” display mechanisms (i.e. laptops/projectors/smart boards) but we have these other tools in our pockets (or bags ) and/or can access them more easily

What devices are we talking about? Smart phones/tablets Lap tops HDTV/Analog TV’s LCD Projectors ????

VGA “Male” Usually used to connect to a projector and HDTV to a laptop; can be used to connect some smartphones and tablets with an adapter VGA “Female”

HDMI “Male” Usually used to connect an HDTV/Some newer projectors and some lap tops/media players/smart phones/tablets HDMI “Female”

USB Type A Connect computers, peripherals, media players to peripherals USB Type B Usually the other end connecting host computer to peripherals; currently the most popular USB design for latest smartphones and tablets
