2 TRANSITION YEAR  INTRODUCED IN 1973  163 SCHOOLS BY 1993  MAINSTREAMED IN 1994  Over 550 SCHOOLS IN 2012/13  APROX. 30,000 STUDENTS  APROX. 80% OF ALL POST PRIMARY SCHOOLS  CERTIFIED by Dept. of Education and Science in 2000 Michael O'Leary
