3 Reading at Home Encourage independent reading as well as reading with you - reading before lights out in bed -reading on devices Children could do their reading in the morning with a parent if they are too tired at night. May use their finger to run down the margin to keep their place or a ruler if they find it particularly difficult. Discuss the vocab they don’t understand. You don’t have to read the whole text. Junior Journals may be one article. Encourage reading by joining the library.
