Information Session for 2 nd year to 3 rd year transition Helyn Gould Vice Dean Academic

Between 25 th April and the end of the current semester you are being asked to select your provisional curriculum for next session. NOTE – Students proceeding to exchange must also upload a curriculum to Pegasus prior to departure for exchange. If you do not have an approved curriculum, you will NOT be able to register on-line in September and your registration may be delayed. Remember this curriculum is provisional, you can make amendments in September after you register. Advisors of Studies are available to give general advice on how to structure your curriculum. Subject Advisors are available to give advice on selection of classes.

From 25 th April 2014 you can download a handout giving your choices (e.g. “BA in Business - Choices for second year”). http://www.strath.ac.uk/business/undergraduate/currentstudents /provisionalcurriculum/, http://www.strath.ac.uk/business/undergraduate/currentstudents /provisionalcurriculum/ If you are unsure about which optional classes to take and need further information, you can see the Subject Advisor in that subject area. SBS Departments will be holding drop-in sessions following this meeting and over the next few days within the department – please see our handout which gives further details.

Honours/Masters Year Options BA Honours Business/BA Honours International Business/BA Honours IBML Results attained over second and third year will determine entry to Honours for all BA Business degree programmes. In general you should be working towards at least 55% credit weighted average (CWA) in your business subject classes and require to pass your year of study (at first attempt). Exchange Requirements BA Honours International Business - pass second year with 55% CWA including 55% in principal business subjects (at first attempt) BA Honours IBML - pass second and third year with 55% CWA including 55% in principal business subjects (at first attempt) Masters in IBML By end of third year you should have attained an average of 60% in each class studied to be given permission to proceed to your exchange year. During your 4 th (exchange) year you will study business and language classes in the main language and must successfully complete to be given permission to progress to your final year of study. SPEAK WITH INDIVIDUAL DEPARTMENTS FOR FURTHER CLARIFICATION

You are required to take 120 credits each year. If you are taking a non-business subject (Psychology, Mathematics, Business Law or Languages), Subject Advisers can be contacted in each department for advice. Please see our handout for further details.
