Best Security Practices Don’t give out your password (campus policy) Personal Computer use –Keep Operating System and Applications up to date –Run Anti-virus software (Microsoft provides Anti-Virus for Windows. There are free options for Mac OS X.) Email Active system scans

Best Email Practices Be wary of emails from unknown sources Be cautious of attachments that you are not expecting Never click on links in Email Be vigilant of social engineering tricks –Do not reply (or enter Web forms) with account or personal information i.e. Password, SSN, Banking Information, Date of Birth, Address Look at the mail headers
