Quick Review of Direct Object pronouns
2
The direct object is the person or thing that receives the action of the verb. It answers the question who or what. In the sentence John hits the ball, ball is the direct object. (What does John hit? : the ball)
3
If the direct object begins with el, replace it with lo. Ex. ¿Limpiaste el cuarto de baño? Ya lo limpié. If the direct object begins with la, replace it with la. Ex. ¿Tendiste la cama? Ya la tendí.
4
If the direct object begins with las, replace it with las. Ex. ¿ Quitaste las mesas? Ya las quité. If the direct object begins with los, replace it with los. Ex. ¿ Lavaste los platos? Ya los lavé.
5
The direct object pronoun can be placed in two places: 1) before a conjugated verb 2) after an infinitive Ex. Of 2) ¿Vas a limpiar el baño? Sí, voy a limpiarlo. Notice the infinitive and the pronoun form one word.
