This tool is designed to assist you in determining the correct definition as well as any title and or registration requirements for your 2 or 3 wheeled vehicle including: Motorcycles, Low-Power Scooters, Electrical Assist Bicycles, Electronic Personal Assistive Mobility Devices, Toy Vehicles, and standard Bicycles. 4 YOUR VEHICLE’S CRITERIA
START OVER Is your vehicle self-propelled and designed primarily for travel on the public highway and generally used to carry a person or persons? Please answer NO if your vehicle is not designed, intended, or approved for use on the highway. Vehicles commonly known as mini bikes, pocket bikes, kamikaze boards, go-peds, and standup scooters as well as off-highway vehicles such as ATVs and snowmobiles are not approved for travel on the public highway. START OVER Is your vehicle equipped with a manual clutch? NOTE: A manual clutch is used to manually shift through the different gears of a vehicle’s transmission mechanism. If you don’t have to manually shift gears on your vehicle, then you do not have a manual clutch. EXIT Based on the criteria you provided, your vehicle is classified as a Low-Power Scooter in the State of Colorado CRS (48.5) Self-propelled vehicle designed primarily for use on the roadways; and Has no more than three wheels in contact with the ground; and Has no manual clutch; and Has either of the following: A cylinder capacity not exceeding fifty cubic centimeters (50 cc) if powered by internal combustion engine; or A wattage not exceeding four thousand four hundred seventy-six (4,476) if powered by electricity.
