Using a Tragedy For the Greater Good
A day no one can forget….. On April 20, 1999, one of the worst tragedies in America occurred when 2 armed students took the lives of 12 of their peers and 1 brave teacher at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado.

Who Was Rachel Scott "People ask me all the time, 'What was Rachel like as a sister?' I always have to say that she was as normal as my other sister. She was fun, goofy, dramatic... sometimes we got along, sometimes we didn't. Rachel was an easy person to love. Even though Rachel was my little sister I am the one looking up to her." - Bethanee Scott (McCandless), Rachel's Sister "Rachel was the most incredible, passionate person I've ever met in my life. Before she passed away she took my yearbook, and she wrote some stuff in there. One thing she wrote to me was, 'Sarah, don't let your character change color with your environment. Find who you are and let it stay in its true colors." - Sarah Scott Rachel's Cousin "Rachel lived a life filled with kindness and compassion, and because of it, she's changed the world." - Craig Scott Rachel's Brother

Rachel’s Beliefs “I Wouldn’t Be Labeled as Average.” This was written in the journal Rachel had with her the day she was killed at Columbine. On the back of her dresser she wrote, “These hands belong to Rachel Joy Scott and someday will touch millions of people’s hearts”. “Compassion is the greatest form of love humans have to offer”, written in her essay.
