Look at the images you have been given and watch the following clips: Run 'like a girl'. Run 'like a girl'. Be a man - the mask you live in. Be a man - the mask you live in. What impact can gender stereotyping have on teenage girls or boys? Why do you think it’s important not to stereotype someone because of their gender?

Look at the images you have been given and watch this video That's so gay! That's so gay! If you wouldn’t use racially discriminative words… why should you use homophobic words? Discuss the impact of the video with your peers

Look at the images you have been given. How can we help to challenge negative discrimination against people because of their gender, ability, ethnicity, religion or sexuality? How can we promote a positive approach to diversity?

One way to promote a positive approach to diversity is by thinking about the words that we use. There are a lot of words that are considered discriminative and derogatory. They don’t belong in school – so we need to stop using them. Instead try to use positive words of empowerment – like the ones on the sheet you’ve been given.
