Some kids like to play games, watch videos, do homework or send messages on a computer or cell phone. If your parents say this is okay, then you are having fun. Sometimes someone else’s fun is not fun for you.

How would you feel if you got messages that said mean things like “I hate you!” “You are fat and ugly!” “I’m going to beat you up!” When language gets mean or scary and when it’s repeated over and over that’s Cyberbullying

How might it feel if you have a bad experience online? Upset Angry Hurt Embarrassed How else might you feel?

What can you do to stop the cyberbully? STOP BLOCK TELL

Do not respond or talk back. Save and print the bully’s emails or message logs.

Block the cyberbully. Leave the chat room or web site and sign off the computer.

Talk over how to handle the situation with a friend. Tell your parents, teacher, or another trusted adult when you or someone else is being cyberbullied.

Trust your feelings if they are uncomfortable. Don’t share passwords with anyone except your parents or guardian.

Think about what you are doing and STOP. Don’t say it online if you wouldn’t say it to someone’s face. How would you feel if you were the person being cyberbullied? Could it happen to you?
