3 MAKING INVITATIONS Instructions: Read the next phrases that you can use to make an invitation.
Formal I was wondering if you'd like to come to dinner on Wednesday evening. Would you be interested in coming to the cinema with me tonight? How do you fancy going out for a meal at the weekend? Do you fancy coming to the cinema tonight?  Informal: What are you doing next Saturday? Would you like to come? Are you free next Thursday? Are you doing anything next weekend? Would you like? Let’s… Shall we go? What/How about dinner tonight?

4 Making Invitations Would you be interested in + ( verb -ING)
Would you be interested in coming …. Would you be interested in going …. Would you be interested in reading … Would you like + ( verb in infinitive) Would you like to go … Would you like to watch … Would you like to drink … Let’s + ( verb - base form) Let’s go … Let’s see .. Let’s dance …

5 ACCEPT AN INVITATION Instructions: Read the next phrases that you can use to make an invitation.
Formal I'd love to, thanks. That's very kind of you, thanks. That sounds lovely, thanks. What a great idea, thanks. Thanks for your invitation. I'd be delighted to. Thank you. I'd love to.  Informal: Yes, thanks. That would be great/wonderful. Sounds great/like fun. OK/All right. Sure!

6 REFUSE AN INVITATION Instructions: Read the next phrases that you can use to refuse an invitation.
FORMAL That's very kind of you, but actually I'm doing something else on Saturday. I'm awfully/terribly sorry. I have other plans for that night. I'd really like to, but I have an appointment that day. Well, I'd love to, but I'm already going out to the cinema. I'm really sorry, but I've got something else on. INFORMAL I’d love to, but I can’t … I´m afraid… Sorry I can´t Thanks for asking, but I'm afraid I'm busy. I can't. I've got a lot of work to do. Sorry. I'm already tied up.
