Description The main inequality in the labour market that the project will approach is the different position of women in relation with men in the region of Extremadura. There are significant differences between women and men and we are facing the worst inequality situation in labour market at a national level.

European Social Fund The actions are oriented towards the development and implementation of equal opportunities plans and promotion of women’s labour participation. What is Eloisa? A project that proposes several actions that conform an integrated plan of actions in favour of equal opportunities for women in the access to the labour market in local surroundings.

European Social Fund The project will imply different local actors related to labour market to favour equal opportunities. European Social Fund Intervention Fields Local Administration Local Administration Accompaniment and support for the inclusion of equal opportunities at the design of public policies and prevention of obstacles that difficult the inclusion of the principle ‘equal opportunities’. Training actions and qualification of public agents in equal opportunities.

European Social Fund Intervention Fields Educative System: Educative System: Accompaniment and support to the development of educative intervention models from equal opportunities. Starting prevention programs of women’s social exclusion, professional diversification of girls and boys and distribution of familiar responsibilities and domestic tasks.

European Social Fund Intervention Fields Enterprise Field: Enterprise Field: Counselling and support to the plans’ development of equal opportunities at the companies, including the design of working methods specially adapted to small and medium companies. Awareness, training and counselling for the integration of equal opportunities at the processes of collective negotiation.

European Social Fund Intervention Fields Social Organisations: Social Organisations: Counselling and support for the plans’ development of equal opportunities at social organizations in local surroundings, contributing this way in constructing a positive attitude in society and in families towards the social and labour participation of women.

European Social Fund Intervention Fields Unemployed Women: Unemployed Women: Social-pedagogical support to unemployed women to capitalize the non-formally-recognised abilities and to facilitate a first contact with the productive system. Design of methodologies to gather up unemployed women, with the aim to animate their participation in the labour market.

European Social Fund Municipalities for Equality Dissemination Meetings about the programme in each Community of Towns with a participation of 144 mayors. 25 municipalities will elaborate Equal Opportunity Plans. Pilot project of a Comarcal Equality Plan (Las Hurdes a region composed by very little towns) Constitution of Equal Opportunities Committees in each Town Hall. They will be the responsible to elaborate the diagnosis for the future Equal Opportunities Plans. Training in Equal Opportunities to Technicians and politicians of 140 municipalities.

European Social Fund Social Organizations for Equality The first step has been the gathering up of social organisations. Promoting the creation of women's association where they were inexistent, the Progressive Women’s Association is the responsible for this action. The Decree 75/2006 of April 25 th is created as a tool to facilitate through the projects executed by the associations the social and labour activation. Grants for 175.000 €. The women’s associations are getting trained in methodologies to implement Equal Opportunities Plans within the organizations.

European Social Fund Equality in Enterprises Information and awareness in Equal Opportunities. Responsibles: the Regional Confederation of Extremaduran Enterprises and the Trade Union Comisiones Obreras. Women’s Foundation is elaborating the methodology to implement Equal Opportunity Plans in enterprises using the Gemz Method adapting it to rural areas. Sexpe (Extremaduran Public Labour Service) is collaborating with a labour experimental programme.

European Social Fund More Active Women Selection of unemployed women. Elaboration of individual guidance itineraries including social skills. ECCA Foundation is making a programme in this field using the comarcal radios. One of the tools which is being used to promote the laboral practices for unemployed women are the grants.

European Social Fund Inclusion of 12 women in Pre-primary Schools and Secondary Schools of the territory to carry out the 12 grants for labour experience acquisition. The aim of these grants for unemployed women is to provide them with a real labour experience in working centres. They are getting monthly 240 € during three months. Social Services are very important in this action because they make the reports to have the grants and also they help women to get into the labour market with kindergartens or residences for elderly or dependent people. European Social Fund Equality in Schools The project has already contacted with the Secondary Schools of the territory. Most of the Educative Centres have received with open arms this action. Within this action it is very important the participation of all the members School Council (teachers, mothers and fathers, municipal politician representants, students and administrative staff). The Regional Ministry of Education promotes the conciliation of family and labour life in the school through the creation of out-of-school education activities, dining rooms for meals and breakfast, help for students with problems, languages summer camps…
